DATE: February 14, 2020
Oliver POS today announced its reach of 69 countries, securing users on every continent but Antarctica.
The milestone is a major accomplishment for Oliver POS, a small software company and a client of Memorial University’s innovation hub, Genesis.
“To be a small local startup powering stores across the entire world is a dream come true for us,” said Mathias Nielsen, CEO and founder, Oliver POS.
“Genesis is delighted to see Oliver POS achieve this level of international reach,” said Michelle Simms, president and CEO, Genesis. “Companies in Newfoundland and Labrador are well positioned to enter into global markets and this company is proving just that.”
Oliver POS is a revolutionary point-of-sale (POS) solution for WooCommerce, WordPress’ eCommerce plugin. Oliver POS seamlessly integrates a shop owner’s online store with its physical shop, while its open-source framework allows for complete custom development to make a personalized point-of-sale register.
Founded in 2018 by Mr. Nielsen, the company’s small workforce is always working to build a better point-of-sale solution for shop owners and software developers alike.
“The tech industry in Newfoundland and Labrador is booming, and companies like Mysa, Colab, InspectAR, BreatheSuite and others inspire us to constantly move forward,” said Mr. Nielsen. “We’re excited about this achievement of operating in 69 countries, but we’re even more excited for what’s next.”
Today’s news comes in the wake of many recent initiatives to make Oliver POS more accessible, including offering Oliver POS in eight languages; Oliver POS’ new Freemium Plan; the launch of mobile terminal Oliver Go; and compatibility on all devices.
Oliver POS is currently offered in English, French, Spanish, Hindi, Dutch, Danish, Chinese and Bengali, and soon to be many more. The team is currently working on developing an app for Oliver POS on iOS and Android.
